I’m a little behind and will catch up between today and Wednesday. Last Tuesday March 16th, I normally go in for TRX in the morning, however I needed to be elsewhere that morning, so I cancelled and went to the evening training session. Keely is a young attractive, and an effervescent personality to encourage you to strive and accomplish what you thought you couldn’t do. I must confess I couldn’t do one exercise, I just think I ran out of gas. I’ll get to that a bit later. Keely’s classes are always fast paced, she says, “ I keep forgetting to tell you to rest for a few seconds,” I think not, the class is fast paced and according to my heart monitor and calorie counter I burned 550 calories in forty-five minutes.

The exercise I couldn’t do was a plank (see photo) with this variation, being supported by one arm extended, you take the other arm and your entire torso and swing around the pivot point of your extended arm. I was so tired I actually never got onto my arm. At first I felt bad that I didn’t do the exercise but I looked around and many of the people couldn’t do it either. I walked there and back between the walks and the TRX nine hundred and forty-forty seven calories were burned.

I might once a month take Keely’s class, not only for the variety she adds to the training session but try and keep up with the younger folks and do all the exercises.

Thursday March 18th Nicole’s class was upbeat we did our usual warm-ups of three exercises, deep squats, a casual lunge and upper torso rotation. The lunge is less extreme, meaning we aren’t making a deep lunge rather stretching our bodies and making the rotation and swinging our arms in unison to the left for a few minutes and then to the right; switch the forward leg and repeat. The one exercise I was most proud of accomplishing was the spider. You are in the plank position and you swing one leg up and away from your body and swing the leg under your body maintaining the plank position then switch to the other side. I managed to maintain myself horizontally and make the rotations.
